Listen, we all get it wrong sometimes. There are a lot of moments when we don’t really know what we’re doing, when we can’t manage to show up for work on time or go to the grocery store or meet deadlines for our articles (whoops, that one’s me). We drink too much, we talk too loud, we fall down a lot (also me). And as women in a world like ours, weighed down by the ridiculous standards of the patriarchy, it’s frustratingly easy to be hyper-aware of all of our imperfections and all of our mistakes. But when we claim and celebrate these very imperfections, we stand up for ourselves, stand up for each other, and subvert the status quo.
We’re not perfect, but we’re doing our best—sometimes, and sometimes we aren’t, and that’s okay too. Maybe what it all comes down to is that we haven’t got it all figured out just yet. And that is fine, fine, fine—especially as long as we have badass ladies writing anthems like these to celebrate our flaws to. So here’s to the hard-luck heroines, weird women, and female f*ckups making our way shamelessly through this world, putting our bras on one boob at a time just like everybody else, and fighting for our right to get it wrong.
