Despite their minimal social media presence, the Olsen twins always have (and most likely always will) be trendsetters. I have Pinterest boards dedicated to channeling their trendy chameleon ways and unique personal style. I have perfected their signature minimal-yet-smokey eye makeup. However, as a 20-something art student, my cozy (small) apartment is nothing like the twins’ 2005 Manhattan penthouse (which they sold). So needless to say, Ashley Olsen’s new Greenwich village apartment has me swooning. While I can’t help you with the historically cool location, or the stunning cast-iron facade, I can help you channel Ashley’s minimalist chic-yet-somehow-cozy interior decor.
Bathroom
Ashley’s bathroom features a beautiful, deep mirrored tub.
Good luck finding one of those that fits your budget—but you can definitely bring some monochromatic luxury to your own space. Plant some succulents in white pots (Etsy, $25) to sit by the sink; they’re cute and nearly impossible to kill (trust me, they are the only plant to have ever survived me for more than a few months).
Grab some push white towels from Target, and maybe a fluffy bathrobe to channel your inner diva. You can hang them on something like the Klanse Train Rack from Anthropologie ($248).
The devil is in the details, so small touches, like your wastebasket, go a long way with pulling a space together. Think something along the lines of the Brazilian Hide Wastebasket in Ivory from Restoration Hardware ($92-$115).
Living Room
Ashley’s living space is simultaneously minimal and homey. It’s full of clean lines and open space, yet still invites you to curl up with a good book and a cup of tea. If you’re in the market for new furniture, take a look at Adeline Storage Sleeper Sofa in blue from Urban Outfitters ($849).
No worries if a new sofa isn’t in your budget this month. Top a table with a sleek lamp, like this Anchored Orb Task Lamp from Anthropologie ($198).

The key to making open space feel cozy is a good rug—something that isn’t too eye-catching, but still makes you want to wiggle your toes into it. The Lattice Flokati Rug from Anthropologie (from $78) is perfect.
Kitchen
I’m hopeless in the kitchen, but stainless steel cookware can make anyone look competent and pulled together (until you set your rice on fire). Williams-Sonoma has great sale on high quality kitchenware, as does Anthropologie. Also, never underestimate the power of a good cutting board.
Bedroom
As for the bedroom—aesthetic is everything. Ashley’s space gives off major hotel vibes with plush white sheets and well dressed floor to ceiling windows—think SVW staying at the Palace Hotel.
Curtains make a big difference to any room, and the Cotton Canvas Rod Pocket Drape Curtains in Grey from Williams-Sonoma ($95-$135) are a close match.
Try to minimize clutter, and replace it with clean surfaces and maybe some good wall art. I was very pleasantly surprised with the selection offered by Urban Outfitters. Look for abstract pieces, such as this Kevin Russ White Sands Art Print (UO, $19-$399) that complement your color scheme.
Top it off with a cashmere (or really soft cotton-blend) throw, and you’re set! Go forth and live your Olsen dreams.
