We know what you’re thinking—there is no way outfits can seriously impact someone’s follower count. Well, they definitely can, considering how many fashion bloggers and influencers have built their following because of their style.

Clothes play a huge role in how people perceive you, especially on social media. That’s why we’ve put together a list of 7 OOTDs that are currently trending and are sure to spice up your feed, making you stand out from the rest. Whether you’re thrifty or love luxury designer clothing and accessories, there’s a look for you.

Statement Monochrome

Wearing a single color from head to toe may seem daunting at first—no one wants to look like a crayon in a box of stationery. But if done right, these outfits certainly make a lasting impression.

The key to making this type of outfit work is layering. Layer pieces that have different textures and varying shades of the same color. Also, pay attention to the way the clothing fits you. Make sure every piece of clothing complements and flatters your particular body type to really make a statement. You can choose to either match your accessories to the outfit or go with more neutral-toned jewelry.

Effortless Skater Girl

Skater girl OOTDs have been around for a while now but have skyrocketed in relevance this year. Much like our streetwear look further down, this too is incredibly comfortable and perfect for the colder months.

This OOTD consists of a long-sleeved, checked t-shirt under a short-sleeved, tucked-in black tee. Add dark cargo pants and classic skater shoes. For jewelry, layering chunky chains and dog tags look the best.

Cottage Core Heaven

A cottage core look is reminiscent of forests, fairytales, and fields of daisy. This aesthetic has been featured in various trending Instagram reels and has been steadily gaining traction. We imagine the inspiration for this to be the Edwardian era in Europe, which was known to romanticize a simple countryside life.

Start by layering flowy and soft pieces in pastel colors with varying textures and patterns. Be on the lookout for floral prints along with lace and silk fabrics. As for accessories, keep it dainty and simple with thin necklaces and art deco rings. An effortless way to achieve this look is by wearing a floral, puffy-sleeved dress and minimalistic jewelry.

Baggy Streetwear

For the days when you want to be comfy but still look put together, a streetwear look is the way to go. Over the last few years, streetwear has grown in popularity thanks to rap and hip-hop. These outfits are a common sighting in today’s popular culture and hence get a lot of traction on Instagram.

If you want to go for a baggy streetwear OOTD, pair a loose graphic or band tee with wide-legged jeans and maybe a flannel if it’s cold where you are. The most important part of any streetwear OOTD is the shoes! When we think of the perfect sneaker for this, Nike Jordans are the first thing that comes to mind.

Y2K Nostalgia

The Y2K aesthetic is possibly one of the most trending aesthetics on Instagram today. This style is inspired by the mid-90s and early 2000s when the internet first became popular. The big fashion influences of this era include Paris Hilton, Mean Girls, Britney Spears, Bratz Dolls, and Legally Blonde.

The simplest way to achieve this look is by pairing highrise, flared/relaxed jeans with a cropped top or camisole and chunky shoes. For accessories, we’d recommend a tiny baguette bag, colorful sunglasses, and layered necklaces and chokers.

Thrifty and Vintage

This is a great OOTD for someone on a budget because it takes barely any effort to recreate. You have two ways to go about this—raid your mom’s old clothes or go to a thrift store. Both options are pretty inexpensive.

There are no real rules for this look: just experiment with a lot of different clothing items that used to be all the rage, like bellbottom jeans, circular glasses, and tie-dye t-shirts. For accessories, wear a ton of silver antique rings and large hoop earrings. Voila, you’re all set!

IG Baddie

Last but certainly not least, we have the Instagram “Baddie” outfit. This is arguably the most likely to get you followers. We take inspiration for this look mostly from Black female artists like Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, and Doja Cat.

This OOTD consists of a body con dress with cutouts and high heels. Pair this with nostalgic accessories like large hoop earrings and gold chain jewelry.
