How to Rock Winter Clothes in the Summertime

One of the hardest things to do is to stay stylish while trying to stay warm through the winter months. It’s winter right now in the southern hemisphere and there are plenty of people visiting there and shivering their bones off because the weather that is flipped over into the cold is not something that they are used to.

You want to be able to remain stylish and feel good about the clothing you are wearing, but the best way to do that is to make sure you are doing it while being practical. There is no use in looking stylish if your legs are bright blue from the cold! Instead, you need to consider the coats and the jackets that you have in your wardrobe, how your jeans fit you, and consider giving up the flipflops and replacing them with your boots. Below, we’ve got a few great tips to help you to stay stylish and warm all at the same time.

Go inside out

Layering is one of the best things that you can do to make sure that you stay warm. If you’re feeling chilly, you add a layer. Start with a vest top, and then go for a T-shirt, then add on a long sleeve top, and then a thin long sleeve turtleneck. This alone is an excellent way to add top layers that are warm and comfortable. You don’t have to shove on the waffle-knit long johns, not when you can find similar pieces that work to keep you warm without adding too much bulk. When it comes to the bottom half of your body, you can wear a soft material that’s fitted such as tights or leggings. If you are cold you can just add a pair of comfortable jeans over the top with a brush fleece lining. Warm, stylish, and no bulk.

Increase the length

If you spend much of the year in T-shirts and shorts, then shopping for jumpers, jackets and jeans are the best choices you could make for the winter. You need to extend the length of your clothing to cover more of your body. It doesn’t have to be complicated, just make sure that your clothing has some substance to it and you’ll do fine.

Don’t forget your hands and neck

When was the last time you wore a scarf? Scarfs aren’t just reserved for the cold weather, you know? They can be reserved for the summer weather – you just need to have a lighter material with your scarf. In the winter however, leave your coat open and wrap a thick wooly scarf around your neck and don a pair of gloves. This will help you to ensure that you are warm.

You can look fantastic in your outfit and stay warm against the elements at the same time. Don’t forget your umbrella, and pop on a hat if your ears need extra help. You won’t regret the time you take to sort your winter wardrobe.
