Fall has arrived! This means cooler temps, beautiful leaves, apple cider, apple picking and, oh I forgot, pumpkin. Personally, I prefer apple over pumpkin, but in the aisles of my local grocery store, I can find almost anything pumpkin. Here are 12 times pumpkin went way too far, though I’m sure there are more.
Pumpkin Chocolate French Fries
This is new dish debuted by Burger King, the beloved french fries are drizzled in both pumpkin and chocolate sauce. Now, I will be be the first to dip a french fry in a chocolate shake, but this is too far, nearly gag inducing.
Pumpkin Pizza
NO! Why on earth would you ruin the greatest food in the world this way? Yes, I know there are dessert pizza’s, but this isn’t dessert, this is a tragedy and possibly a rip off of pumpkin pie?
Pumpkin Pringles
If there ever were a dark day in delicious Pringles history, it should be marked as they day sweet Pringles were introduced. Pumpkin Pie Spice Pringles were introduced along with white chocolate peppermint and cinnamon sugar, which were a limited time deal. Pringles has my heart, but the derogatory mark will forever remain.
Pumpkin Spice Sausage
First of all, eww! Who said pumpkin went with chicken? And why?
Pumpkin Spice Oreos
Oreos and I have a strange relationship, but when we’re on good terms, I am an Oreo purist. Don’t mess with perfection, Oreo doesn’t agree with my sentiments.
Pumpkin Spice Hummus
I am not one to defend the honor of hummus, but this case is an exception because I am extremely puzzled: chickpeas, nutmeg, cinnamon and pumpkin. How does one even come up with this?
Pumpkin Spice Pasta Sauce
Pumpkin is a vegetable, a member of the squash family so sauce is not that far fetched, but do you put it on squash or regular pasta? And what happened to regular tomato?
Pumpkin Spice Dry Pasta
Like it’s counterpart above, this just confuses me. Why not just stick with spaghetti squash. This seems extra. Rossi pasta suggests that you serve their fettuccini with cheese, spinach or sage butter, this is the one and only time I recommend none of those things go near this pasta.
Pumpkin Spice Milk
Milk is for cereal. Am I supposed to put this on my cereal? Is this just a rip on nutmeg? Why not just call it that? Too many questions. Not enough answers.
Pumpkin Spice Cheerios
Ah, the cereal of toddlers everywhere (adults can’t go wrong either), but nothing was wrong with the other sweet Cheerio varieties. Is this the only cereal I’m allowed to put that pumpkin spice milk on?
Pumpkin Spice Burger
In 2014, west coast burger restaurant Umami introduced a pumpkin spice latte burger. A burger topped with Japanese pumpkin (Kabocha) that’s been fried in tempura batter, garlic aioli, and mascarpone cheese and a coffee glaze.
Pumpkin Spice Bar Soap
OK so, this one isn’t a food, but you wanna smell like nutmeg and cinnamon all day? Why? People think there’s pie baking but in reality you just walked in the kitchen. This soap also lists blueberry, avocado and shea butter, all of that, with pumpkin?
